Israeli police have charged a West Bank olive grove with attending the harvest where settlers attacked Palestinians.
The trees, fixed to the hillside in the occupied territory, were said to have failed to disperse. Officers recorded three warnings and no movement at all, which they treated as a plea.
Masked settlers had stormed the picking, and diplomats and a photographer were caught in the same rush. Police detained people over the violence, then added the scenery, on the grounds that a crime which returns with the crop is partly the crop's fault. The file reads like 1956, with the ships swapped for branches.
"We cannot book the hillside for a third season and act surprised when it is still a hillside," a police spokesman said.
