Cornhole league bans 49ers owner, NFL files paperwork
League officials call Friday's ruling the heaviest decision in the organisation's history.

The ruling came down against San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York, who was arrested at an Ohio trailer park over the weekend and pleaded no contest to two misdemeanour charges. The court gave him a fine and two days. The cornhole league gave him forever.
All 26 members voted. The commissioner described the deliberation as the longest night of his adult life.
"We have a doubles bracket. We have a standard. One of those things is negotiable and it isn't the bracket."
League officials confirmed York's name has been scraped off the sign-up clipboard with a butter knife. His partner slot goes to an alternate who has been waiting since spring.
The NFL, for its part, filed the whole affair under routine paperwork and moved on. Meanwhile the semifinal starts at dusk, in a lot with one working floodlight, and the winners get a folding trophy that has to go back in October.
