Studio sells Liam Neeson's 'The Mongoose' in six-ticket bundles after viewers forget film mid-screening
The distributor of the Liam Neeson thriller 'The Mongoose' is treating instant forgettability as a selling point, with every screening billed as a premiere.

The studio behind “The Mongoose” will sell the Liam Neeson thriller exclusively in six-ticket bundles, it announced Thursday, after test audiences reported forgetting the film while it was still playing.
The decision follows tepid notices for the fugitive picture. Internal research found most viewers could not recall a single scene at the exit survey, and several tried to buy tickets for the screening they had just left. One man asked an usher when the Neeson film started, six minutes before it ended.
“Every screening is now a premiere,” a studio spokesman said. “Mr. Neeson has made the first fully renewable motion picture.”
Advertising will bill the release as “a first-time experience, six times over.” A loyalty scheme will reward any customer who can describe the plot, a pool the studio expects to remain empty.
A sequel is in development, though the studio conceded it may already be in cinemas.
