Tabloids admit they never tailed Office Space's Richard Riehle
After Richard Riehle's death at 78, Hollywood's rumour mill concedes it missed its hardest-working actor while photographing smoothie runs.

The celebrity gossip industry confirmed on Sunday that it never once followed Richard Riehle, the Office Space and Casino actor who died at 78 this past weekend after more than 400 projects.
Not one stakeout. Not one blurry long-lens shot of him buying lettuce. Sources close to the situation say fourteen photographers were assigned to a single pop star's oat milk habits during the same decades Riehle was quietly turning up in nearly everything.
An internal review found the problem was structural. Gossip runs on drama, and Riehle kept supplying the opposite. He showed up, made the scene work and went home, for almost five decades, which editors reportedly flagged as a direct threat to the business model.
"We had a man who worked steadily his whole life without one public meltdown," said a senior tabloid editor, staring into a cold latte. "Do you know what that does to a news cycle? Nothing. Absolutely nothing."
The industry has pledged to do better. As of press time, it had sent all fourteen photographers to watch a reality star parallel park, just to steady its nerves.
